How to Read Twitter / X Links in ChatGPT
ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity can't read tweets directly. X.com blocks bots, requires JavaScript rendering, and sits behind authentication walls. MachineContext solves this with a single URL prepend.
The Problem
When you paste an X.com or Twitter link into ChatGPT, you'll get something like:
"I'm unable to directly access or view content from X (formerly Twitter). Could you paste the text of the tweet here so I can help?"
This happens because X.com is a JavaScript-heavy single-page application. AI crawlers can't execute JavaScript, can't authenticate, and get blocked by bot detection. The result: AI models are blind to Twitter content.
The Fix
Prepend machinecontext.ai/ to any X.com link. MachineContext will render the page in a real browser, extract the tweet content, and return clean, structured markdown.
x.com/elonmusk/status/1234567890machinecontext.ai/x.com/elonmusk/status/1234567890"Summarize this tweet: machinecontext.ai/x.com/elonmusk/status/1234567890"
ChatGPT will follow the MachineContext link, receive clean markdown with the full tweet text, author handle, timestamp, engagement metrics, and any quoted content — then answer your question accurately.
What Gets Extracted
MachineContext renders the tweet in a headless browser and extracts:
